- Make sure your child is wearing sturdy shoes that are comfortable for walking long distances.
- Don't dress your child too warmly or too lightly, and make sure they're wearing comfortable clothes that allow them to move freely.
- What’s the weather forecast? Is there a chance of rain? If so, make sure your child has a raincoat or rain cape! Is it cold in the morning but warm in the afternoon? Then dress your child in layers. That way, they can always take something off if they get too warm.

- Put sunscreen on your child when it gets hot and sunny. Make sure your child has sunscreen in their backpack so that the teachers or caregivers can reapply it.

- You’ll often receive a letter from the school stating whether or not lunch is provided by the school and whether the children are allowed to bring money or snacks.
- Put a note with the most important phone numbers in your child’s pocket or bag.
- Make sure to take your child to school on time. That way, you can say goodbye and wave them off in peace.
