Spooky Scavenger Hunt - Letter 7

Question for letter 7

CANDY

On Halloween (October 31), it’s customary in America for children to dress up in scary costumes, such as ghosts and monsters. They bring an empty basket and go door to door to collect candy and treats. When the door opens, they shout in unison: trick-or-treat! That means: Give me candy or I’ll play a trick on you! If they don’t get any candy, they might, for example, throw flour on the front door.

Did you know that:

  • They say that if you wear your clothes inside out on Halloween and walk backward, you might just run into a witch… spooky, isn’t it?
  • Did you know that on October 28 in the U.S., more candy is sold than on any other day of the year?
